Young & Restless Horror: ‘The Darkest Kind of Secret’ Is About to Be Revealed
While many think of Paris as the City of Love, it’s also known as the City of Lights… which makes it wildly appropriate that this French city is where Young & Restless will finally allow Ashley to face the darkness which has turned her entire world upside down! While the road ahead will be a difficult one to navigate, the haunted beauty will at least have both Traci and Alan by her side as the truth at last emerges from the shadows of her tormented mind!
Already, viewers have been given hints as to what’s going on. Last week, Ashley, Traci and Alan attempted to recreate the night which seems to have brought forth the chemist’s alternate personalities. This week, they get closer and closer to the truth… which promises to be more explosive than they could have imagined.
“Traci is afraid for her sister,” portrayer Beth Maitland told Soap Opera Digest, “but determined as well to support her in any way. And Alan is going above and beyond their friendship to protect Ashley in her fragile state.”
All roads seem to lead to a bar which Ashley headed to after that fateful fight with Tucker. And as revealed in the preview for this week’s episodes, it is there that the next major piece of the puzzle comes to light when Alan lays a major shock on the ladies. Because while Ashley believes she spent that evening sharing a glass of wine with Alan, he believes she was actually with his brother!
The one word Alan doesn’t speak, but which echoes like the loudest of whispers: twin.
Longtime viewers may recall that this isn’t the first time Ashley’s life has been turned upside down by a twin. Years ago, she was married to a handsome man name Blade Bladeson. (Hey, we didn’t name him!) Blade had a very nasty twin named Rick, who eventually — as evil twins will — kidnapped his brother, replacing him in Ashley’s life and bed!
Now, it seems history may in some twisted way be repeating itself. But if Alan’s brother is truly responsible for Ashley’s personality splitting, what happened between them that triggered such a dramatic psychological reaction?
Maitland says that while Traci tries to prevent her beloved sister from rushing headlong into a potentially dangerous situation, Ashley will stop at nothing to uncover the truth. “Shocking truths cannot be held back any longer,” she previews. “Facing down the darkest kind of secret is the only chance for Ashley to survive!”
