However, neither of those things will happen since Lucas is also headed for the exit door.
Getting off the hook on the rest of a prison sentence clearly doesn’t guarantee a story or any kind of longevity in Salem!
That said, it honestly wouldn’t make much sense for Lucas to stay in Salem when his kids aren’t around.
Lucas was stuck in Statesville and then at a monastery, but there’s no reason why he shouldn’t go see his children now that he’s truly free.
Will Horton (Chandler Massey) and Allie Horton (Lindsay Arnold) are still living in New Zealand with their respective partners.
Arianna Horton (Lane Rosa) and Henry Horton (Clyde and Nash Gunderson) are there too, so all signs point to Lucas taking a trip to see his kids and grandkids.
Days spoilers confirm Lucas will bid Kate farewell on Tuesday, June 25, so they’ll both get emotional as they express their love.
Goodbyes are always difficult in Salem, but Kate will surely understand why New Zealand is where Lucas needs to be right now.
Naturally, that doesn’t mean Bryan Dattilo’s exit from DOOL will be permanent.
Lucas Horton is one of those characters who always pops back up down the road, so this is just about saying so long for now!
Once Lucas updates Kate on his plans and gives her a farewell hug, our Days predictions suggest he’ll catch the quickest flight to New Zealand and catch up with his family ASAP.
At some point, maybe Lucas will even find Sami Brady (Alison Sweeney) off-screen so he can show how apologetic he is over all the kidnapping drama.
