‘Don’t Remind Me!’ Young & Restless’ Eric Braeden Reluctantly Revisits a Twist That ‘Victor Always Resented’
It’s been 40 years since Victor and Nikki first said “I do” and The Young and the Restless has been celebrating this milestone in a big — and potentially explosive — way. They haven’t exactly spent the last four decades together, what with all their divorces, flings and marriages to other people. Still, these days, they have finally, it seems, hit endgame with each other — though for a time, as longtime fans know, we thought their true loves may not be with each other… but with the Abbotts!
Ashley and Victor, of course, were together long enough to have Abby together, and once upon a time, the only man who could give the Newman patriarch a run for his money with Nikki was Jack!
That’s something newer viewers are still learning, like when a Twitter/X fan shared an old ad for a CBS soap talk line with Jack and Nikki dancing the night away behind a ticked off looking Victor! You know who didn’t forget but really tried to? A very tongue in cheek Eric Braeden!
The actor channeled his best Victor Newman in response to the not-so-long ago relationship by tweeting, “Don’t remind me!!”
But remind him fans did, and one of them even took it a step further to point out that Nikki and Jack weren’t just married for a while, they were so close that an Abbott helped raise both Victoria and Nick!
Braeden didn’t mince any words with that little reminder, either. “And Victor always resented it,” he exclaimed! As if Victor and Jack’s feud wasn’t bad enough, the two have been battling it out in business, love and family for ages.
No wonder they still struggle to even be civil!
But hey, those days are long past. Nikki and Victor are inseparable — though far from boring! Not even Nikki’s battle with alcoholism, Victor’s control issues or Jordan’s reign of terror can tear them apart anymore.
But we’re pretty sure Victor’s still going to keep one hell of an eye on Jack, just the same.
