SWAT viewers are treated to more of Shimar every Friday as he portrays Daniel “Hondo” Harelson, taking down some of Los Angeles’ worst criminals. However, fans of The Young and the Restless might not be as fortunate. Although we’ve seen him make appearances in Genoa City a few times over the years, many are eager to see him return to their daytime screens on a more permanent or recurring basis.

But is the former CBS soap actor open to such a proposition? In a recent interview with First for Women magazine, he shared insights into whether he’d consider another daytime comeback. The last time we saw him was in May of 2023 during the soap’s 50th-anniversary celebration, where his surprise appearance at a jazz club to honor his on-screen brother, Neil, left everyone in awe.

“I definitely did it for my dear brother,” Moore shared, may he rest in peace. He went on to express gratitude for the unwavering support Christof St. John had provided him throughout the years, mentioning how St. John had always rooted for his growth. Reflecting on his departure from The Young and the Restless, Moore acknowledged the encouragement he received, stating, “He told me I could make it.”

Since leaving the role he originated in 1994, Moore has accumulated over 35 credits to his name. Despite occasional periods of unemployment, he has remained resilient in the industry. So, would he consider returning to Genoa City if the show came calling? “If The Young and the Restless called me today, I would go,” Moore revealed. He also expressed a similar sentiment regarding a potential return to Criminal Minds, emphasizing the importance of not forgetting one’s roots.

While it might sound cliché or cheesy, Moore’s sentiments ring true, and fans would undoubtedly welcome his return in any capacity.
