The Young and the Restless Teasers: Claire’s Redemption Derailed – Is Summer’s Nightmare Becoming Reality?

The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers reveal that Summer Newman (Allison Lanier) has no intention of moving on from Claire Grace’s (Hayley Erin) mistakes anytime soon. As far as Summer’s concerned, Claire will never be truly innocent – no matter how many people try to excuse her past or paint her as a victim.

Of course, plenty of other characters understand that Jordan (Colleen Zenk) brainwashed Claire against the Newmans from the moment she was stolen from the hospital.

Claire grew up thinking she’d been abandoned and was trained to take the Newman family down, so that’s why she targeted and nearly helped Jordan eliminate multiple members.

However, Claire now realizes Jordan messed with her head and has turned her life around through her treatment in the psych ward.

It’s clear Claire is on a better path, but how long will it really last?

Summer certainly doesn’t trust Claire and expressed concern to Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) about her cousin reverting to that dangerous version of herself. There’s no way for Summer or anyone else to know for sure what the future holds.

At this point, Summer is being portrayed as an overprotective mom who’s perhaps going too far with all the Claire rules and warnings.

That could change depending on where Y&R wants to go with Claire’s character down the road.

Will there come a day when Summer is ultimately proven right?

Could Claire’s redemption be destroyed when Summer’s worst fears about her come true?

It would certainly be interesting to see something happen that flips a switch in Claire.

Although Claire’s seemingly done the work to get better, her most sinister side may just be dormant until it’s time for a major twist in her storyline.

Once Claire most likely becomes a couple with Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor), that could add a new layer to her feud with Summer.

It might set the stage for Summer to push Claire too far and bring out a scary version of her again.
