The Young and the Restless Spoilers: Will Summer and Phyllis Derail Kyle’s Romance with Claire?

The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers reveal that Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) can always be counted on when it comes to interfering in her kids’ lives. Now that Phyllis is out of a job, she’ll have even more time to focus on butting in Daniel Romalotti Jr. (Michael Graziadei) and Summer Newman’s (Allison Lanier) business.

Despite Phyllis’ initial desire to go after revenge on Chancellor-Winters, it looks like she’ll skip making another mess for Daniel.

Since Daniel clearly doesn’t want Phyllis’ help, she’d be better off concentrating on Summer right now anyway.

In fact, Summer might get desperate enough to ask Phyllis for some shady assistance.

Phyllis is always going to be a schemer at her core – and that’s something that could become quite useful to Summer moving forward.

In the May 17 episode, Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) undermined Summer’s stance on Claire Grace (Hayley Erin) by asking Harrison Abbott (Redding Munsell) if he’d like for Claire to be his new nanny.

That totally goes against the line Summer drew in the sand when it came to keeping Claire at a distance.

Summer may complain to Phyllis about that soon and grow worried about the hold that Claire has on Kyle.

That’s especially true if Summer starts witnessing some flying sparks.

Summer may sense that Kyle is falling hard for Claire and start imagining a disastrous romantic endgame.

We may see Summer work herself into a tizzy as she thinks about how far Kyle might take things.

Summer might fear that if this keeps up, Claire could become Kyle’s new wife and a stepmother to Harrison down the road.

Phyllis might insist they can’t let that happen and convince Summer that they have to stop this romance before it ever truly starts!

Then again, maybe Summer could be the one to take the lead here and recruit Phyllis for a sabotage plot.

Either way, it’d be fun to see Phyllis and Summer team up for a mother-daughter mission – one that takes Summer back to her own scheming roots.

Our Y&R predictions point to Summer taking a stand against Claire and Kyle’s budding relationship, so she might end up working with Phyllis to derail their future together.
