Jill Abbott, played by Jess Walton, has been an integral part of the CBS drama for decades, recall The Young and The Restless Spoilers. However, we do not get to see her as much as we’d like to see her. In fact, we barely see her on the screen at all anymore. The last we saw of her was months ago when she appeared on a Zoom call.
Currently, on Y&R, she opened up to Billy about her declining health and that she is overseas getting treatment for the same with her brother- Dr. Snapper Foster. The Young and The Restless Spoilers hint that the conversation between her and Billy made it sound like her illness is very serious. Does this mean that the soap is preparing to write her out?
That is if they haven’t already! Because, post that Zoom call, we haven’t really seen or heard from her at all. Moreover, Billy Abbott keeps going on and on about preserving his mother’s legacy. It all sounds like the storyline is heading in a direction where we could eventually lose Jill Abbott.
However, it is to be noted that there has been no official confirmation from the makers or the actress about her leaving the soap. Moreover, The Young ad The Restless end credits list Jess Walton on a recurring status. This means that her character is not required on a regular basis to drive any ongoing storyline forward.
So, Jess can come in and go out as Jill as and when required. In recent years, Jess Walton has taken some time off from work to accommodate her husband’s health issues, as well as, some of her own. So that explains her past absence from the soap. As for the future, we really hope we get to see her involved in the upcoming corporate battle between Victor and Billy.
