The Young and the Restless Michelle Stafford’s Outstanding Lead Actress Victory – Daytime Emmy Winner’s Powerful Speech
The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers reveal that Michelle Stafford (Phyllis Summers) has a lot to celebrate now that she’s taken home another Daytime Emmy win. Stafford’s latest victory came at the swanky ceremony on June 7, which brought her surprised reaction to winning in the Lead Performance In A Daytime Drama Series: Actress category.
Based on Michelle Stafford’s expression when her name was called, it’s clear that she was blown away over this incredible acknowledgement.
It was a tough category this year with some extremely talented performers, so that no doubt made Stafford’s win even more satisfying.
Once Stafford headed up on stage to make her speech, she started out by giving a special shout-out to fellow nominee Finola Hughes (Anna Devane on General Hospital).
Hughes was also competing in the lead actress category, so Stafford wanted to recognize her achievement her since they’re close pals in real life.
“Finola, you are the best actress in this room and you are the greatest friend,” Stafford insisted.
Stafford also wanted to share her award with the entire cast and crew of The Young and the Restless since she’s so proud of everything they accomplish at the show.
After Stafford thanked Y&R Head Writer and Executive Producer Josh Griffith, she joked about how he listened to her cry in his office.
Next, Stafford offered her gratitude to CBS, Sony and all the other women she was nominated with.
We already mentioned Finola Hughes, but Katherine Kelly Lang (Brooke Logan on The Bold and the Beautiful), Tamara Braun (Ava Vitali on Days of Our Lives), Annika Noelle (Hope Logan on B&B) and Cynthia Watros (Nina Reeves on General Hospital) also scored noms alongside Stafford.
Once Stafford was done praising that amazing group, she gave her kids – Natalia and Jameson – some recognition as well.
Stafford eventually talked about the honor and privilege of being an actor since she clearly loves to entertain people.
Many Y&R fans were rooting for Michelle Stafford to take home the statuette, so congrats to her on this fantastic accomplishment!
