Telma Hopkins Brings Denise Tolliver Back to The Young and the Restless
Telma Hopkins Brings Denise Tolliver Back to The Young and the Restless
It’s another fabulous reunion on Y&R!
Things are going to get very interesting for Nate in the coming weeks. The Young and the Restless introduced Valarie Pettiford to the scene as Amy Lewis, who is searching high and low for Damian. Soon, they’ll get assistance from Detective Denise Tolliver when Telma Hopkins returns to the show.
Welcome Return
In the lead-up to the drama, Soap She Knows snagged an interview with Hopkins to discuss what’s to come for her character. “Denise is who she is. She’s an investigator. She’s nosy. She’s got the best job in the world, and now she can get in everybody’s business legally. She doesn’t have to sneak around like she used to do.”
Not only will this bring Denise into Nate’s (Sean Dominic) orbit but it gives Half & Half fans a reunion years in the making. Back in 2002-2006 Hopkins and Pettiford starred side by side in the sitcom as Phyllis and Big Dee Dee, respectively. Pettiford shared her excitement to be back on screen with her former costar. “I just look into her eyes. It just makes all the difference in the world because you don’t have to work.”
The last time Denise was in Genoa City, she showed up at Devon’s (Bryton James) door to deliver some shocking intel on Amanda (Mishael Morgan). This was back when Amanda was deep into uncovering the truth about her father’s death. Not only did it make for a good storyline, but Hopkins got to reunite with her former Family Matters son.
A Helping Hand
Will Denise be the key to finding Damian and bringing him back to his mother? Amy is in a race against the clock to see her son again as she faces serious medical issues. It’s her last wish to be with her beloved boy and make sure he finally connects with his brother before she goes. They can use all the help they can get, and Denise is exactly the woman Amy needs on her side right now.
