Like the proverbial fox in the henhouse, Bold & Beautiful‘s Steffy has managed to get herself rehired at Forrester Creations. But that’s only part of her plan to rip the rug out from under Carter and Hope in order to return the company to her family. This week, her secret weapon — aka Daphne Rose — will make a not-so-subtle play for Carter. But if what we saw last week was any indication, the Parisian import might just do something that will derail Steffy’s other longtime dream: the reunion of her parents!

Already, we’ve been told (repeatedly, as is this show’s style) that no man can resist the charms of Daphne Rose. (And yes, she is one of those characters who must always be referred to by her full name, a la Sheila Carter or Days of Our Lives‘ Stefano DiMera.) And certainly upon meeting Ridge, she seemed ready and willing to prove as much. As Steffy watched, Daphne Rose sauntered up to Ridge and literally sniffed him before declaring his cologne to be “classic, strong, sexy and very masculine.”

Seconds later, we were reminded of Daphne Rose’s allure when Steffy described her never-before-mentioned pal as “beautiful and confident… a woman no man can say no to.” And while Daphne Rose added “not even Carter Walton,” the look she gave Ridge suggested that he might be more to her liking.

Therein, of course, lies the rub. Because it’s not hard to imagine Daphne Rose, while updating Ridge on her future progress, weaving a tantalizing web around the designer. Sure, he just dumped Brooke (again) to reunite with Taylor (again), but given how easily each of those women accept his (many, many) faults, perhaps Ridge is looking for someone who presents a bit more of a challenge.

From a dramatic point of view, it’s hard to ignore just how big an impact a Daphne Rose/Ridge pairing would have on the canvas. Brooke and Taylor would, of course, be stunned, but the real fun would come via Steffy’s reaction. Where she would see Daphne Rose’s actions as a betrayal, Hope would likely brand it something more akin to karma. “You brought her here to seduce my guy,” Hope might declare, “and she instead hooked up with your dad? That, Steffy, is what Colonel Saunders would call a finger-lickin’ good kind of delicious!”

Worse, however, Steffy’s actions might endanger more than simply Taylor’s reunion with Ridge. Should things between the oft-married pair go south yet again, her broken heart syndrome could come roaring back… and this time prove downright fatal!
