Meet the Days of Our Lives Newcomer Who Could Put an End to One of Salem’s Longest-Lasting Nightmares
On the surface, things aren’t look great for Days of Our Lives Cat — at least according to spoilers which have Chad comforting her tomorrow. The only reason we can think of that would prompt him to offer comfort to someone he kind of hates is if Cat got word that her mom, Catharina isn’t going to make it.
But that’s not what’s going to happen as “Catherina” has already introduced herself to us! Daytime newcomer actress Susan Elena Matus took to Instagram to tease her role as Konstantin’s formerly dead daughter, describing her character, Catharina, as “a survivor with complicated family secrets,” who “will protect her children at all cost.”
And to cap it all off, she shared a photo of Catharina looking very ticked, pointing a gun at someone. It’s not entirely clear who she’s taking aim at, but from this week’s preview, we already know that the big showdown with Clyde is going to be packed full of firearms and itchy trigger fingers. If Catharina really would do anything to protect her kids, and Clyde’s messing with them and destroying their lives (Is Mark ever going to get out of jail?), then it doesn’t seem like a stretch that she’d want to put an end to his threats. Maybe even for good!
That would certainly save quite a lot of heartache for the residents of Salem who haven’t been able to shake his corrupting influence no matter how sturdy a jail they try throwing him in!
Fingers crossed, though, that Clyde doesn’t have something over Catharina now, too, that’s got her doing his bidding! If so, she could always be pulling a gun on anyone in the preview. Well, anyone but her daughter. Even Clyde wouldn’t be able to twist enough arms to force a mom into killing her own kids.
One thing that is certain is that if we’re finally meeting the woman Clyde’s been holding hostage, one way or another, his time’s nearly up. And if he doesn’t die, they need to find some very, very deep hole to toss him in, because prison just doesn’t cut it anymore. Either way, welcome to Salem, Catharina, and we can’t wait to see what Matus brings to her!
