Holly Calls Out the Bride After JJ Marries Chad and “Abigail” — and Brady Confronts Fiona

In the school hallway, Sophia tells Tate how thrilled she is for him and his dad that someone else was arrested for the hit-and-run. Tate is, too, but for some reason, Brady hasn’t been released yet. When he tells her the real suspect is Fiona Cook, Sophia gapes. “I know that bitch.”

EJ brings a shamed Fiona to a jail cell across from Brady. He smugly tells Brady he’s still a suspect and leaves them to hash out their versions of the truth. Brady glowers, wondering how he could have been so wrong about Fiona. But forget him. “How could you do that to Sarah?!” Fiona cowers.

Sarah finds Xander somberly staring at Victor’s portrait in the mansion. He wonders how Victor Kiriakis’ son could be such a gullible fool. He tearfully laments how Fiona has disappointed him his whole life. But when she showed up at their wedding, he turned into that stupid little boy who wanted his mum. How could he not have seen that she is the same heartless drunk she’s always been?

It breaks Sarah’s heart how Fiona has hurt him. Xander flies to her side, insisting it’s nothing compared to what Fiona did to her. And now Sarah might be charged with perjury for protecting him from almost killing Brady. Sarah reminds him Fiona confessed, but Xander points out she only confessed to them. God knows what she’s saying to the cops. They have to set the record straight and free Brady. Not only because he’s innocent, but because it’s the only way Kristen will give them Rolf’s serum to help Sarah walk again. When Sarah’s better, Xander vows they will make Fiona pay.

Xander tearfully bends down to Sarah who sits in her wheelchair.

In Paris, “Abigail” talks to Mark over the phone in a bedroom. Despite him not telling her what Clyde’s orders are, she trusts he will take care of it. In the meantime, she will marry Chad and get Clyde his money. Hanging up, she holds up her off-white dress in a mirror. “You can do this,” she says, sighing. “It’s for Mom.”

In the apartment living room, Chad looks at his and Abby’s wedding photo. Across the room, a text message on his phone from Kayla reads, “She’s not Abby.” Holly comes over, excited for the wedding. When he asks, she reports that things are a little awkward with her mom. Speaking from experience, he says fixing that relationship is important. She says she has another relationship that needs fixing and updates him on her Tate drama, “Abigail” comes out in a sleeveless, crochet slip dress. Chad beams.

Through tears in jail, a shaky Fiona explains to Brady that she panicked after hitting Sarah. Her mind was racing, and her world was about to end — but there he was, blissfully ignorant. She had done research upon coming to Salem and knew that Maggie had been framed in a similar manner. Brady says she didn’t just put him in the driver’s seat; she put him in a guilt-ridden hell. But now it’s her turn to suffer. Her turn to be in hell. After more grousing from Brady, Fiona insists she does care about him. The only person she hates is herself. Brady doesn’t want to see or hear from her again. He slumps on his cot as Fiona sobs.

At the high school, Sophia tells Tate how she waited on Fiona at the Bistro. She seemed nice, and a little lonely, as Fiona asked about her dating life. When she mentioned Tate’s name Fiona demanded she keep quiet about serving her a martini. He asks if Sophia would talk to the police and testify if it comes to that. Sophia would do anything to help him and his family. Tate says he’s lucky to have a friend like her. Hugging him, Sophia looks off with an inscrutable expression. The bell rings, and Tate fondly watches her as they part ways.

Sarah and Xander meet with EJ at the police station. Xander says his mother can rot in hell, but Brady should be released. EJ assumes there’s a reason Sarah has changed her story and that they are so desperate for Brady’s freedom. Until he knows the whole truth and is 100 percent certain, Brady stays put. Xander and Sarah plead with him.

EJ sits across the interrogation room table from a stoic Sarah and an imploring Xander.

At the Paris apartment, Chad embraces an arriving JJ. He tentatively faces “Abigail” and asks if she remembers him. She doesn’t, but she does feel a familiar energy. He and Chad explain that JJ got ordained on the internet and is going to marry them. There are no words for how much it means to JJ that he gets to see his sister again. He knows their mother is having a hard time accepting this, but deep down, she’s happy for her. He embraces her.

Holly emerges with flowers, and “Abigail” picks up Chad’s phone for music. She sees Kayla’s message about her not being Abigail. She deletes it and tells Chad his phone is dead. JJ starts the ceremony. “Abigail” tears up as vows are exchanged, and Chad stares at her with unabashed love. They exchange rings and kiss upon becoming officially married. While “Abigail’s” memories didn’t come flooding back, she can honestly say she feels closer to Chad than ever before. When he embraces her, “Abigail’s” joy morphs into anguish.

Alone in the interrogation room, Xander wonders if they should have told EJ everything. Sarah doesn’t think they can trust EJ with the knowledge that Kristen is blackmailing them and that Xander set out to kill Brady. She just prays EJ does the right thing.

As JJ toasts to the bride and groom in Paris, he apologizes for not reaching out sooner to talk to “Abigail.” Holly flashes back to “Abigail” saying that she was just on the phone with “her brother.” In the present, a confused Holly asks, “Didn’t you just talk on the phone last night?” JJ and Chad shoot quizzical looks at a twitching “Abigail.”
