Heart Attack Death! General Hospital’s Cameron Mathison died || Very Heartbreaking News!

General Hospital Star Cameron Mathison Turns Personal Loss Into Purpose with Project Angel Food
On-screen, General Hospital fans have watched Drew Quartermaine descend into villainy—a morally conflicted congressman manipulating a much younger woman in a storyline that has viewers talking. But off-screen, Drew’s portrayer, Cameron Mathison, is proving he’s nothing like his character.
Even while juggling his soap role, movie projects, and game show hosting gigs, Mathison is dedicating his time and voice to causes that matter. His latest effort? Leading a charity telethon for Project Angel Food, a Los Angeles-based nonprofit that prepares and delivers nutritious meals to people battling serious illnesses.
Lead with Love
The live event, called Lead with Love, will air as a special broadcast on KTLA-TV in Los Angeles at 7 p.m. on Saturday, June 28.
Appearing on KTLA’s Morning News on June 26 to promote the event, Mathison shared why supporting Project Angel Food has become so meaningful to him:
“They’re out there delivering medically tailored meals to so many people who are ill and struggling. It’s just stories of resilience, ways to get through, and people out there doing what they need to do with the help of Project Angel Food and the help of others.”
During the telethon, Mathison will answer phones to take donations, host taped segments about the organization’s clients, and help spotlight stories of courage and community.
Finding Purpose Amid Personal Challenges
For Mathison, the project also has a personal dimension. In January, he lost his Altadena home to the California wildfires—a traumatic experience that left his family displaced.
“Dealing with the loss of our home and the displacement of my family is an ongoing process,” he told KTLA.
But instead of retreating, Mathison has chosen to channel his energy into helping others, using his platform to raise awareness and support for neighbors in crisis.
A Star Making a Difference
While Drew Quartermaine may be the villain viewers love to hate, Mathison’s off-screen dedication has reminded fans why he remains so admired.
By shining a spotlight on Project Angel Food, he is showing that even in the face of personal loss, there is always room to lead with love—and to give back to those who need it most.
