General Hospital Star Sticks His Neck Out for Kelly Monaco: ‘I Suspect She Actually Might Be a Vampire’
On the occasion of Kelly Monaco’s birthday on May 23, Michael Easton sent a heartfelt message to his frequent leading lady via Instagram. The actors, as you may know, go way back — further even than 2012, when he crossed over his One Life to Live character John McBain to General Hospital and was paired with her Sam McCall. They were first matched up on screen in 2001, on the General Hospital spinoff Port Charles as blood-sucker Caleb Morley and the object of his obsession, Livvie Locke.
“Today’s throwback,” wrote Easton, sharing a clip from the supernatural soap, “is in honor of our friend Kelly Monaco’s birthday. Kelly is one of my favorite people on the planet. She is kind, beautiful and talented, and since she doesn’t seem to age, I suspect she actually might be a vampire.
Given the co-stars’ history of being matched and rematched, it seems like only a matter of time before General Hospital puts Sam in the orbit of Easton’s current character, Hamilton Finn. Not only did the show make a couple of Sam and McBain, it also paired off Sam and Easton’s next character, ill-fated Silas Clay. That just leaves Finn!
