Days of Our Lives

Gabi, JJ, Chad and Cat’s Lives Are All On the Line as Clyde Makes a Dramatic Entrance — Plus, Hope Delivers a Stark Warning!

On today’s Days of Our Lives, Steve, Kayla and Roman are in the pub talking about how Julie’s going to need family and friends this Christmas more than ever. Hope comes into the pub and asks for a hug. They ask how she’s holding up and Hope sighs, saying she’s worried about Julie. Steve gets an alarm to meet with Jack and leaves after Hope fills them in on Bo’s progress. Before he goes, Steve tells Hope to keep the faith for Bo.

After, Hope admits she feels bad she has to leave Julie so fast, but she’s grateful there’s so many people supporting her. Then she asks if anyone’s met Doug III. Roman knew Doug had a son, but he hadn’t heard a word about him in ages. Hope’s not thrilled that Julie invited this total stranger to move in. She doesn’t trust “this so-called Doug Williams.”

At the very least, she’s going to verify Doug’s story before she goes. She’s going to find a way to reach out to Charles, Doug’s son and Doug III’s dad. She calls Harris and he sends her Charles’ number. Hope calls her half-brother, talking to him for the first time and says she has questions about his son…

After a short chat, she thanks him and promises to meet in person someday. Charles confirmed everything, saying he just recently told Doug about his family and while he’s surprised he’s in Salem, it makes sense. Hope believes that Doug’s her nephew, but wonders what his agenda really is. Roman promises they’ll look after Julie.

Days' Jack comforts Jennifer on the bench in the Horton square before a Christmas tree

Jack and Jennifer are sitting in the square, where she admits she’s worried about Chad and JJ going up against Clyde. The family’s suffered so many losses and she can’t handle if anything happens to JJ. Jack says he’ll be fine — JJ and Chad need to do this for Abigail, and they need to believe the boys will succeed.

He slips the necklace back into his pocket and says he was looking at the photos. Julie says most of them are her family. Doug didn’t have a lot of blood relatives. She’s sorry that Doug didn’t have a chance to get to know Hope and her kids. Julie then mentions Ciara opening the time capsule, excited to show him the necklace. She opens the box and it’s gone! (Of course.)

Jennifer gets back and Julie asks where the necklace is. Jen breaks the news that the necklace was stolen. They didn’t want to upset her, but haven’t called the police yet. They think Steven did it, but Julie doesn’t believe that. Her brother changed. “Besides, my brother has a good heart.”

Who else could it have been, Jen demands to know as Doug III looks on. Julie doesn’t know, but it’s no one they know. Someone must have broken in as they left for the memorial. Doug thinks back to doing just that the second they left. Julie just insists that her brother didn’t do it.

Doug chimes in saying Steven left town in a hurry and he does like climbing in and out of the house through a window. Jennifer gets a text from Jack saying he needs her and leaves. Doug asks Julie if she’s OK. “No. No! Definitely not!” She starts crying, saying how much it meant that Steven was there and now… this. He can’t be a thief.

Doug says there’s something Julie should know. Even if Steven let her down, he’ll always be there for her. Hope shows up to say goodbye. Julie tears up when Hope says she has to get back to Bo. She starts crying as Hope pulls her in and says her dad loved her so much. “I feel his love. I feel it all around me. I hope you feel it too, darling.”

Hope assures Julie she does feel it, and wants to be sure Julie will be OK. They both assure each other they will and Hope says goodbye once again. Julie insists on giving her a box of grandma’s donuts, leaving Doug and Hope alone. She says it was nice to meet him and hopes he’ll take care of Julie while she’s gone. “If you should hurt her in any way, I’ll be back. And not so friendly next time.”

Steve meets with Jack and asks about JJ. Jack’s heard nothing, but admits he’s worried. Steve says he called in some ISA favors to track down Weston now that they know where he is. He gets a message.

Up in Vancouver, JJ wakes up in bed to find Gabi’s arm on him. He gently removes it and she wakes, embarrassed. He teases her about missing him. They talk a bit about Gabi — she was dreaming of him when she cuddled up to JJ — and JJ tells her she’s better off without him. But… “You loved him, so for what it’s worth, I’m sorry that things ended up the way they did.”

Gabi thanks him and says they should get dressed. They do and worry over not hearing from Clyde — just before a note is slipped under their door for Chad. “Dammit,” JJ mutters. The note says to bring Cat to The Kitten Club this morning.

In her and Chad’s room, he wakes Cat from a nightmare where Clyde kills her mom. He tries reassuring her, but she’s afraid the dream is real and her mom’s gone. Chad holds her while she sobs in his arms. She pulls away and apologizes, but Chad gets it. She tells him about the terrible nightmares she had as a kid, and how her mom would comfort her.

Chad wants to stay focused on bringing Clyde to justice and getting Abigail’s remains. He heads back into the bathroom. Later, Chad’s waiting for Cat to get out of the bathroom, impatient at why she’s taking so long. She comes out and snaps that she’s not running out anywhere. She wants to save her mother and make things right for hurting Chad.

“I still care about you Chad!” she blurts out. She says she didn’t lie to hurt him, it was to save her mother and — he yells at her to stop. There’s no rationalization for what she did. Cat starts rambling on about how she has feelings for him and doesn’t know what to do and — she’s cut off as JJ and Gabi knock with the letter.

Chad and Cat decide to go to the club to stall Clyde while JJ and Gabi check out the apartment. Gabi says they can call the police after they check out the apartment and rescue Cat’s mother. JJ still doesn’t trust Cat, but Chad says they’ve got no choice but to trust her. Chad agrees to hold off on calling the cops until Cat’s mom is safe. JJ makes the point that they’re going to have to get away from Clyde all on their own, then.

In the show’s final moments, Jennifer joins Jack and Steve in the square, where Steve fills her in on the plan Chad sent them. JJ and Gabi get to the apartment, where he breaks in and finds it empty. They rifle through the furniture and Gabi immediately finds a fake ID for Clyde. JJ soon finds Clyde’s laptop and Gabi throws out a few password ideas. Her third one, “Nancy” works. JJ gets in just to hear Gabi gasp. Clyde’s in the doorway, a gun pointed at them.

Chad and Cat, meanwhile, get to the office of The Kitten Club, and it’s empty, too. Cat worries about dying in a sleazy place like that and Chad pulls out a gun. They’ll make sure they won’t die. He points the gun at Cat, says they need to make it look good and calls out to Clyde. The door opens, they swing around and see… “Mom?!” And she’s pointing her own gun at them.
