Days of Our Lives (DOOL) spoilers recap for Thursday, January 23, reveals that Tate Black (Leo Howard) was upset over missing Rachel Black (Finley Rose Slater), so he leaned on Marlena Evans (Deidre Hall) about that and about all Sophia Choi’s (Madelyn Kientz) pregnancy drama.

Once Holly Jonas (Ashley Puzemis) showed up, Marlena made herself scarce so they could talk.

After Holly offered support over Rachel’s disappearance, she opened up about her troubled reaction to the sonogram since Sophia and Tate shared something she wasn’t part of.

Tate remained hopeful that maybe Sophia could get through to her mom about the adoption they discussed earlier.

Holly was eager to get news from Sophia as well since things were still up in the air.

At the DiMera mansion on Thursday’s Days episode, Brady Black (Eric Martsolf) got a supportive call from Ava Vitali (Tamara Braun).

Kristen DiMera (Stacy Haiduk) blew up and blamed Ava for causing Rachel to run away, but Brady insisted Rachel’s issues ran deeper than him dating Ava.

However, Kristen thought back to old kidnapping memories and worried she’d never see her daughter again.

Brady made some reassuring predictions and ultimately pulled Kristen into a warm embrace.

At The Bistro on Thursday’s DOOL show, Sophia arrived to see if Ava had any shifts available today since she changed her baby appointment to the day before.

Amy Choi (Shi Ne Nielson) tracked Sophia down to rip into her for rescheduling without her knowledge.

Sophia eventually brought up the idea of adoption, which Amy quickly shut down.

It was just a way to avoid consequences in Amy’s eyes – and she refused to let her grandchild be raised by strangers.

After Sophia complained about Amy making her depressed and miserable, she stormed out.

Ava tried to convince Amy that maybe adoption could be a good thing since Sophia and Tate weren’t ready to be parents, but Amy insisted it was none of Ava’s business.

Once Amy took off on Thursday’s Days episode, Brady showed up next.

Meanwhile, Sophia made her way to the townhouse, where she rushed into Tate’s arms and revealed that her mom wouldn’t allow the adoption.

Sophia suddenly noticed Holly was there and got updates on the missing Rachel crisis, so she offered to leave. Holly seemed uncomfortable and decided to head out instead.

At the police station on Thursday’s Days episode, Shawn Brady (Brandon Beemer) got a phone call about a little girl being hit by a car.

She was roughly the same age as Rachel and had the same hair color as well as a leopard print coat.

Shawn warned Belle Black (Martha Madison) not to fill Brady in until they identified whether this was truly Rachel.

Once Shawn checked at the hospital, he told Belle that it wasn’t Rachel after all – though this other little girl was going to be fine.

Belle hugged Shawn and was grateful that she didn’t scare Brady with a phone call about this.

At the pub, Marlena told Steve Johnson (Stephen Nichols) about Rachel being missing and knew John Black (Drake Hogestyn) would want to know.

Marlena thought John should be with his family and pushed Steve to get Shane Donovan (Charles Shaughnessy) to contact her husband.

Unfortunately, Steve already talked to Shane about that recently and learned John was in a delicate spot.

Any attempts to contact John could blow his deep undercover mission and put his life in danger.

While Kristen cried at the DiMera mansion and wondered where Rachel could be, Rachel entered an old house with the furniture covered up.

Rachel pulled her stuffed snake out of her backpack and told Seymour that they finally made it.
