Here’s your DAYS video preview for the week of November 25-29, 2024.

Relaying Sad News

“There’s something that I have to tell you,” Jennifer (Melissa Reeves) relays to someone over the phone. That someone is her cousin and Doug’s only daughter, Hope (Kristian Alfonso). “A little while ago Jack tried to wake up your dad,” Jennifer continues. “But he didn’t wake up.”

The scene cuts to Jack (Matthew Ashford) approaching Doug’s bed in his bedroom. He attempts to get him to stir to no avail.

Meanwhile, Hope is absolutely crushed. She clutches her chest and dissolves into tears. “Daddy,” she mutters flashing back to precious memories of her beloved father.

Later, at the hospital, Kayla (Mary Beth Evans) informs Marlena (Deidre Hall) of the sad news. “Doug passed away,” Kayla tells the fellow doctor.

Coming Home

As the news spreads near and far, family and friends start to gather in Salem to support Doug’s widow, Julie (Susan Seaforth Hayes). Among them, Julie’s grandson Eli (Lamon Archey) and his wife, Lani (Sal Stowers). The couple embrace as Lani says, “Doug and Julie. They were the perfect couple.”

A Private Goodbye

Finally, Julie gathers her strength and makes her way upstairs to the bedroom. She sits beside her late husband’s body, caresses his hand, and kisses it. “How can I go on without you?” she cries out. A long ago scene of one of Doug and Julie’s earliest encounters flashes onto the screen. Then Julie says goodbye to her husband, saying, “I will love you forever.”
