Days Of Our Lives Spoilers: Aaron Is The father Of Sophia baby!

Fans of Days of Our Lives are buzzing with speculation over the latest baby drama brewing in Salem. Something is not adding up with Sophia’s (Madelyn Kientz) pregnancy. Both she and Tate (Leo Howard) claim they only had sex once, using a condom. Okay one and a half if you count the time Tate called out Holly’s (Ashley Puzemis) name, but both he and Sophia admit Tate’s slip of the tongue ended things before they got started.

Yes, we all know condoms aren’t 100% effective but it’s a fact the writers-that-be have taken special care to point that out on multiple occasions, which leads many viewers to believe that either a) Sophia is faking her pregnancy as a means of coming in between Tate and Holly or b) Tate is not the baby’s father. But if Tate’s not the father, who is?

Sophia has been adamant that Tate is the father of her baby and thus far, no one in Salem has even for a moment thought otherwise.

But what about Tate’s best friend Aaron Greene (Louis Tomeo)? After Tate crushed Sophia by calling out his ex’s name (and her best friend’s no less!) in bed, he added salt to the open wound by dumping her to go back to said ex.

Heartbroken and humiliated, Sophia went to drown her sorrows in chocolate at the Horton Square where she ran into Aaron, who was doing the same only over his brother’s recent arrest, finding out “Abigail DiMera” had actually been his presumed dead sister, and learning that his mother was also still live.

Sophia decided his life was worse than hers and asked the boy she snubbed months earlier at the prom if he wanted to hang out. The two left together and we never heard another word about their evening.

What’s more, Aaron left for Vancouver to visit his mother just before the holidays. Which coincidentally, was just before Sophia found out she was pregnant.

He would have returned by now to start the new semester but his sister Cat (AnnaLynne McCord) revealed that, since he had enough credits to finish high school early, Aaron decided to stay in Canada with their mother a while longer.

With Aaron out of town, he hasn’t been around to question Sophia’s baby’s paternity. He probably isn’t even aware there is a baby!

It’s not something Tate has been eager to share so it’s understandable that he likely hasn’t even told Aaron about it yet. When he does find out, will his response change everything?

In true Days of Our Lives fashion, this revelation is bound to come with maximum drama. Of course in Salem, paternity tests are done more often than on the Maury Povich show.

But seeing as how Aaron’s brother was all too recently brought up on charges, which included tampering with DNA results, it seems a little too soon for this classic trope.

The health crisis is another tried and true plot line that always delivers. During a medical emergency in which the baby needs something requiring DNA testing, the results could expose Aaron as the true father.

But again, given Marc’s recent interference in the Salem University Hospital lab, this angle seems like a stretch even in soap world.

Aaron could just blurt it out, asking Sophia if he’s the father in a moment of vulnerability. He could do this at any time but in Salem, these secrets are best spilt at the worst possible moment—like during a family dinner or an engagement party.

Or at your baby mamma’s wedding to the guy she’s been trying to trap by making him think he’s the father (ie: Lucas ruining Sami’s wedding to Austin by running in just before the “I do’s” and asking if he was Will’s father.) This would be a wonderful callback to some classic early 90’s Days storytelling.

When the truth inevitably comes out, it’s safe to say that the lives of the young teens will never be the same. Will Aaron and Sophia co-parent or pursue a romantic relationship? Aaron’s feelings for Sophia have been obvious, but for so long, she only had eyes for Tate.

Will Sophia’s mother insist they put the baby up for adoption? Or will she try and sue the young parents for sole custody and raise their baby herself? And what about Tate and Holly? Will they be able to reunite and finally have their happily ever after? (At least for a little while?)

But let’s not forget a seemingly insignificant conversation between Aaron and Tate just before the holidays in which Aaron revealed he celebrated both Hanukkah and Christmas, as his father was Jewish and his mother is Greek Orthodox.

This resulted in a quick, but could-be-important, scene where he and Tate filled Holly in on their shared experiences growing up in Greek families. Was this a foreshadowing of a connection to be discovered between their two families?

Will the revelation that Aaron, not Tate, is the father of Sophia’s baby, reignite a much long forgotten feud between the Greenes and the Kiriakises?
