We feel pretty confident in saying that we’ve all been waiting for this moment for months. Heck, we’ve been waiting for it since practically the first time Days of Our Lives’ Konstantin set foot in Salem! Something seemed off with him from the start, and as soon as we learned he was trying to con Maggie out of her fortune, we’ve been waiting for his downfall.

And now, as this week’s preview made abundantly clear, it’s just about here. Because Maggie’s about to finally realize the truth about her husband-to-be. Marlena, John and Steve, you see, finally have a plan in place. And according to spoilers, on Thursday, they’re taking it to Maggie and all-but begging her to listen.

The great news is that now that Victor’s will has finally come out of probate and Konstantin’s practically salivating at the thought of all that money, Maggie’s ready. So when Steve and John bring their plan to Maggie, lay out the evidence and tell her about The Pawn card she, Suzanne Rogers tells Soap Opera Digest, finally hears them.

Yes, Maggie’s hurt and shaken by the fact that someone she trusted has been playing her for a fool. “It’s just unfathomable to her that she was duped,” Rogers says, “that he was continuing to pursue her and that they were going to get married.”

But after coming to accept the truth, Maggie’s heart is full of far more than just hurt. There’s also anger and disgust. And that’s when the claws come out.

“She feels like Konstantin was disrespecting her husband,” the actress explains to SOD, “and Maggie can’t tolerate that. She knew Victor, and over the years he turned into a decent person in her eyes. That’s all she cares about, and Konstantin has disrespected him. So that’s her motive. Maggie’s going to get him.”

Would she destroy his life and toss him in jail? Or just throw him out of her house, the country and back to Greece? We’ve learned, after watching Maggie in Titan, that she can be ruthless. But while we’re sure Konstantin will regret crossing her, she’s still Maggie. We aren’t quite sure what happened to Catharina just yet, but he does seem to believe that he lost her because of Victor. And that may be enough for Maggie to show some kind of mercy.

But maybe not. What we do know is that now that the blinders are off of Maggie and The Pawn has been neutralized, he has no power left. There’s absolutely no way for him to get his hands on Victor’s fortune anymore.

Well, almost no way. He can still hold Theresa’s involvement in all this over her head and push her to marry Alex to take his half of the fortune, as was their original plan. But something tells us, he’s going to have no more luck there than with Maggie. Because as we’ve speculated before, Theresa may have finally reached her own breaking point. And once she decides she’s got nothing left to lose, then there’s nothing Konstantin can do to her either.

One thing you can bet on, though, is that Konstantin’s time in Salem is just about up. So grab your popcorn, because he’s about to go down in flames.
