Days of Our Lives Friday, January 24 Recap: Rachel’s Haunted House Trick for Ava

Days of Our Lives (DOOL) spoilers recap for Friday, January 24, reveals that Kristen DiMera (Stacy Haiduk) nearly went down into the DiMera tunnels to look for Rachel Black (Finley Rose Slater), but EJ DiMera (Dan Feuerriegel) stopped her.

EJ pointed out that security footage showed Rachel exiting the front door and explained that he’d already searched the tunnels anyway.

Kristen reflected on how she’d named Rachel after her mother, Rachel Blake (previously played by Pat Delany), and how she’d hoped her daughter would take after the Blake side of the family.

That didn’t pan out since Rachel had witnessed so much DiMera deviousness.

There was talk about Rachel Blake’s demise in a Paris explosion and all the sugarcoated stories Kristen had told the younger Rachel about Aremid and their summer home there.

When Kristen went looking for her scrapbook of memories, she found that it was missing and worried since it was all she had left of her mother.

At that house in Aremid, a woman dressed in white (Roslyn Gentle) startled Rachel and wondered what she was doing there.

Rachel introduced herself, so the woman complimented her name and learned she was named after her mommy’s mommy.

The woman also questioned how Rachel knew about this place, so Rachel showed her the scrapbook and eventually gave her updates on her beef with Ava Vitali (Tamara Braun).

After the lady agreed Rachel needed to get Ava out of the way, she worked with Rachel on a plan to make it happen.

Since Rachel knew Ava’s number, the woman showed her how to dial on her old phone.

At one point, Rachel asked who this mystery lady was, so she suggested Rachel could call her the “Woman in White.”

Days was obviously playing up Rachel Blake’s past and making it seem like this was indeed Kristen’s mother.

At The Bistro on Friday’s Days episode, Ava made Brady Black (Eric Martsolf) a plate of pasta and reflected on a time when she ran away as a kid.

Ava insisted she came home quickly, but Brady wondered why she ran away in the first place.

That led to Ava admitting her father used to abuse her mother and that her runaway plan backfired since he just hurt her mom worse because of it.

Ava was sorry for the “sob story,” but Brady seemed touched over her opening up about her past.

After Brady headed home on Friday’s DOOL show, Ava got a call from Rachel, who lied that she couldn’t reach her parents and needed Ava to come help her straight away.

Rachel gave Ava the address, so Ava left Brady a voicemail as she rushed for the door.

At the townhouse, Brady missed Ava’s call while he was showering. When Brady checked the voicemail Ava left him, the sound got garbled and left him without much info.

Ava eventually made it to the same house as Rachel, so she found the stuffed snake as she investigated.

Suddenly, Rachel and the Woman in White snuck up behind Ava, which led to them knocking her out together with a candlestick.

At the Horton house, JJ Deveraux (Casey Moss) wasn’t happy about Chad DiMera’s (Billy Flynn) news that Cat Greene (AnnaLynne McCord) was sticking around Salem and potentially getting a job at the hospital.

JJ got upset over Chad defending Cat before Julie Williams (Susan Seaforth Hayes) appeared, so he asked for her input.

Julie suggested it didn’t matter anymore and was clearly depressed over losing Doug Williams (Bill Hayes).

Chad was concerned about Julie and finally convinced her to have an ASAP therapy session with Marlena Evans (Deidre Hall).

At the hospital on Friday’s Days episode, Cat stopped by to see if Marlena had talked to Kayla Johnson (Mary Beth Evans) about the assistant job.

Marlena hadn’t had a chance due to Rachel going missing and the family crisis that was going on.

Cat found out that Marlena wasn’t in touch with John Black (Drake Hogestyn) right now either.

Once talk turned to Cat’s lingering feelings for Chad, she suggested nothing could happen between them and that she needed to just put those feelings out of her mind.

Chad ultimately brought Julie in for her therapy session, so there was some awkwardness due to Cat’s presence.

However, Julie stuck around to speak with Marlena alone and admitted Chad dragged her into this.

Since Julie didn’t want to stop thinking about Doug and move on from the memories she had left, she thought this was a waste of time.

Marlena disagreed and felt Julie should at least try talking once, so Julie surrendered.

Back with Cat, she was apologetic about making things uncomfortable, but Chad knew it wasn’t her fault.

Chad assumed Cat had started her new job, but she hinted about speaking to Marlena about her feelings instead.

Days of Our Lives spoilers say Cat and Chad have a real romance brewing sooner or later, so we’ll pass along more predictions on their growing connection.
