Days of Our Lives (DOOL) recap for Friday, January 17, reveals Leo Stark (Greg Rikaart) set a trap for Kerry (Derek Yates) over a “double date” lunch with Marlena Evans (Deidre Hall), Kerry and Javi Hernandez (Al Calderon). After Leo played up the new Body & Soul story he’d just pitched, he acted like he could trust everyone at the table.

Leo lied about doing a possession storyline and hoped that Kerry would take the bait. Later, Kerry went home with Javi and grew frustrated over how slow their romance was progressing.

When Kerry questioned whether Javi was attracted to him, Javi confirmed that he was and suggested heading to the bedroom.

Kerry claimed he had to get in touch with work and take the rest of the day off, but he was eager to join Javi in hitting the sheets.

After Javi started stripping down, he flashed back to his sizzling night with Leo and gave himself a private pep talk.

Javi told himself that he was just friends with Leo and that he was with Kerry now.

Meanwhile, Kerry wrote a new Lady Whistleblower column about Leo’s possession story and implied that he’d gotten it by hacking Leo’s email.

Of course, the whole pitch was fake, so Leo knew Kerry must be behind the gossip column.

Once Leo and Javi were in bed together, Leo came bursting through the door and said he was there to expose Lady Whistleblower once and for all.

Kerry looked a bit nervous while Javi seemed bewildered over Leo’s actions.

At the townhouse on Friday’s Days episode, Kristen DiMera (Stacy Haiduk) derailed Brady Black’s (Eric Martsolf) romantic time with Ava Vitali (Tamara Braun) and angrily said she knew Rachel Black (Finley Rose Slater) was there.

Brady insisted Rachel wasn’t and learned she’d disappeared from the DiMera mansion.

After Brady called the police, he assured Kristen that they’d launch a missing person case.

Brady told Kristen that the cops wanted them back at the DiMera mansion to go over the story details.

Plus, they needed something with Rachel’s scent for the search dogs.

Kristen acted like none of this would’ve happened if Ava had backed off Brady, so she insisted this was Ava’s fault and ripped into her right as Marlena arrived.

At the hospital on Friday’s DOOL show, Sophia Choi (Madelyn Kientz) had an exam and ultrasound appointment, so Tate Black (Leo Howard) held her hand as they looked at their baby on the monitor.

Tate eventually realized what he was doing and pulled his hand away awkwardly, but it was still a bonding experience for the parents-to-be.

At the Kiriakis mansion on Friday’s Days episode, Doug Williams III (Peyton Meyer) refused to let Holly Jonas (Ashley Puzemis) come with him to pay off the thug with the money she gave him.

Holly finally relented and let Doug go alone, but then she followed him to the park anyway.

That led to Holly mouthing off to the thug, which Doug wasn’t happy about.

Holly argued it was no big deal since nothing happened, so Doug hoped she was right.

Doug was grateful to Holly for helping him pay off his debts and planned to pay her back soon.

Since Doug also wanted to make things right following the stolen jewelry fiasco, he left a voicemail for Leo and gave him updates on all the latest news.

After Doug said he needed Leo’s help again, he vowed to do whatever it took to get the necklace back to Julie Williams (Susan Seaforth Hayes).

On Friday’s Days episode, Holly watched and eavesdropped on Sophia’s conversation with Tate.

Although this baby was a big problem in their lives, both Sophia and Tate admitted they would’ve been devastated if something had been wrong at the appointment.

Holly eventually approached and asked to see the sonogram, which left her looking even more uneasy about Sophia carrying Tate’s baby.

It seemed like all of this was starting to become overwhelmingly real for Holly.
