Days of Our Lives Alum Jason Ritter Introduces His New Son
Jason Ritter shared a hilarious video where he excoriated some people for refuting the fact that his cat is also his son.
The son of John Ritter, one of the top 10 funny men from the 1980s who made us laugh, Jason Ritter has had quite the career so far. Appearing in over 120 projects that include TV shows The Event and Joan of Arcadia, as well as the 2003 monster mashup feature Freddy vs Jason, not many people know his first gig was as Todd on Days of Our Lives. The beloved actor (who also does a great impression of his dad) continued making fans laugh with a recent social media post.
He’s Got Cattitude
On Instagram, Ritter wrote, “Setting the record straight with Donut ‘Buddybud’ Gingy Gingerbread Simith Meowmeow once and for all.” He included a video of him holding his pet cat, and said, “Let’s just get something clear right now. This is my son. Okay? And he’s…he’s a good boy…He can be a wild boy. And sometimes he’s a silly boy, but that doesn’t mean that he’s not a smart boy and a kind boy and a gentle boy.”
The Matlock actor hilariously started to get heated, leaning into the camera to address his fans directly, continuing, “And if you got an issue with my son. Or you wanna say that he’s not any one of those things that he is. Or you even want to say that he’s not my son.” He then paused and knowingly nodded his head while smirking, continuing, “Actually, we don’t have a problem. You have the problem. That’s a you problem. We’re fine. We’re just hanging out. So you might wanna go figure that out because it’s, it’s not a good look. It’s a little embarrassing for you.”
His Son Was Purrrr-fect
The Young and the Restless star Tracey Bregman (Lauren) responded, “❤️❤️❤️so sweet 🐈😻.” Many fans went along with his joke admitting that Ritter and his cat bore a resemblance to one another, and the kitty was a good son. One fan figured out what Ritter was getting at, explaining, “I had a string of thoughts here: First, ‘Awww Jason Ritter Jr!’ Then, ‘Wait…Junior? 🤔’ And, ‘Orange hair… junior…what was that John Ritter movie!’ Finally, ‘Problem Child! It’s his modern-day Problem Child!’ As a fellow cat parent, I know you’re in for some mischief, but also the best cuddles! Congrats!”
Another of his followers hilariously wrote, “Your son is perfect. Please have the catnip talk with him before it’s too late.” One person realized that Ritter was wearing two baseball hats, with the top one bearing the Spy vs Spy characters from Mad Magazine, and replied, “It took me most of the video to notice two hats haha cuz I was watching your son…” And one follower lovingly referenced his Dad’s most famous sitcom Three’s Company with the comment: “I feel like I’m looking at Jack Tripper…😻” (Learn about one of Ritter’s other beloved roles.)
